To all Members of Grand d’ Illinois,
I hope this e mail comes to you in good health and you and yours are able to be up and about to enjoy this beautiful summer like weather we have been having the past few days. Here in central Illinois we were blessed with some unexpected but much needed rain this morning which will give our crops and gardens a much needed boost. I hope you have the same in your area.
This past week we had 2 Locales go over the top in membership. That is great for them. We need those that need 2,3 or 4 members to get those turned in also. We have just 2 months of our year left so time is running short to contact our members. V-409 turned in 1 which put them +1 and 104%, good job! V-433, the largest Locale in Grande d’ Illinois turned in 10 this past week and that put them at 100.91%! They have 111 members to round up and that is a lot of door banging, phone calls and leg work to get those dues collected. We all have our own methods of contacting our membership and those Locales that have attained 100% so far have a method that works. I know it takes determination and never giving up to achieve our goal. There is 17 Locales in the Grande that have made or exceeded the 100% mark and I know most of us if not all of us can if we just contact those not paid one more time, Don’t forget some that might have dropped out in the past, maybe things have changed and they will reinstate. New members are always welcome! We can do it!
This week end is the Great Lakes Promenade In Bloomington, IN. I hope to see some of you there for a great time. Those Voyageurs from Indiana always throw a good time for the rest of us. Our Chef De Gare Passe Todd Latham is the President this year and will be presiding over the activities. He and V-207 hosted it in Dekalb last year and they worked their tails off and did a great job. Todd will get to smile as he leads the meetings this year. If you are there, you will see what I’m talking about. It is always a good time!
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned REPORTS! June 1 is a good deadline for the Locale reports to be submitted to the Grand Directeurs. These reports can be found on the Nationale Website under the resources header, click on forms then click on petite communique. Make sure you fill out the LOCALE form not the Grand consolidated form. Send the completed form to the appropriate Grand Directeur, they can be found on the Grand web site, do not send them to me. I get the Americanism Report and Special Awards Reports only. I know you guys have done a lot of stuff this year so get it reported and turned in!
June is usually a busy month so don’t let the time get away from you. get those memberships rounded up, get your activities reported and keep the weeds out of your gardens so you have those big red maters for your salads and cheeseburgers in July and August!
Make sure you get your reservations for the Grand Promenade made early, it will be here before we know it. I will attach the flyer to this e mail.
