Wally’s World

To all.
I hope all of you are safe and healthy, the way this weather is acting there isn’t anything we can do except look forward to the next day and hope for warmer temps. I have gotten two rows of radishes in, nothing else, too wet or too cold!
We had one of the best weeks in reporting renewals that we have had for many weeks! 23 were reported last week from 7 Locales. That my fellow Voyageurs is what we need to reach the 100% we all want! I believe I mentioned that the Grand has not been 100% since 2016 and Vic Martinka was the Grand Chef. In 2004 when Ted Lang was Grand Chef de Train, a Voyageur told him “you cain’t make 100% in Illinois”. That was a red flag to a bull. From that day on till the week end before the end of July was all hands on deck for membership. We made it that year and 6 consecutive years that followed. We need 121 renewals/reinstatements or new members to be 100% in 2024! I would like to see 90% by the Spring Cheminot and that is only 23 renewals. Get them in the Mail today!
The 7 Locales reporting last week are V-207 +1 ( a transfer from V-592), V-378 +2, V-433 +4, V-594 +3, V-606 +5 and 100%! V-812 +5 and V-926 +3. A total of 23 renewals and 6 of the Locales are over 80% and V-606 is 100%. Great job to all Locales in the Grand, especially those reporting last week. Keep up the good efforts and make sure to keep in contact with the Voyageurs in your Locale. We are in this together!
I am attaching the Agenda for the Spring Cheminot again. I will have them at the meeting, read it over and if you have anything to discuss make a note and bring it up Saturday. I will have a limited amount of donuts and a coffee pot at the meeting room for early arrivals. I will also need help getting the room set up on Friday afternoon. I am not 100% after my hospital visit so please plan to help if you are able. Most of us are in the same boat so together we can get-r-dun!
I got an e-mail from Correspondant Nationale Ron Rolfes about this week being National Volunterr week, take a look at it and thank our Volunteers. Without them a lot of things wouldn’t happen.
I hope to see all of you in Bloomington Friday and Saturday.
Stay safe and healthy!

Yours in service,

Wally Hammond (HA#1)
